Placeholder — not the final documentThis page exists so the link is not dead, and says plainly what it is. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it is not the policy Rank Sniper will publish. What is written below about today is accurate; what is missing is the rest.
What Rank Sniper does with data today, stated narrowly, because the product is not yet installed in anyone’s store.
What is true today
- A free scan reads only public URLs your storefront already serves to any visitor: /products.json, /robots.txt, /sitemap.xml, /llms.txt and up to three product pages.
- A completed scan is stored so the shareable report at /scan/your-store loads without re-scanning, and is re-used for 24 hours.
- Published statistics are aggregate and redacted: a SKU count rounded to a band and a product category. Your hostname is never published.
- An email address given to receive a report is stored against that host, requires confirmation before anything is sent, and carries an unsubscribe link on every message.
- No store has ever been written to. The app that would do so does not exist yet.
What is outstanding
A real policy needs the retention periods, the sub-processors, the legal bases, and the data-subject request route — none of which can be written honestly until hosting, the mail provider and the Shopify app are decided. Blocked on those, not on drafting.
